An Otra Mas volunteer has the following qualifications:

Prior Horse Experience REQUIRED:

Demonstrated experience working directly with horses in a hands-on capacity (e.g., owning horses, working at a barn, participating in equine programs).

Confidently and safely halter and lead horses. Perform thorough grooming tasks including currying, brushing, mane/tail care, and hoof picking.

Strong understanding and adherence to equine safety protocols.

Capable of performing physical tasks needed around large, powerful animals.

Is willing to volunteer for client sessions.

Ability to commit to a consistent schedule.

Available for a training session to learn the specific

protocols of Otra Mas.
